CALL FOR ENTRIES

• What does working in global health look like?
• What are the realities on the ground?
• What are the challenges, and what are the impacts?

As part of our 2019 Global Health Symposium, we are planning a photograph competition and exhibition, focusing on any aspect of global health. Submission of photographs for the competition is now open! 
 
Creative approaches to the theme are encouraged. Special consideration will be given to photographs that challenge stereotypes and that demonstrate reflexivity.
 
Entries will be juried by an award winning panel, chaired by Savannah Dodd (Director of the Photography Ethics Centre), with support from Ben de la Cruz (Multimedia editor of the Science Desk at NPR), and Matt Writtle (award winning documentary and portrait photographer).

Selected photographs will be exhibited at the QUB Global Health Symposium on May 2–3, 2019. If your photograph is selected for exhibition, you will be invited to attend the exhibition opening reception at the Drama and Film Centre at Queen’s (DFC).
 
Submission Guidelines:

• Please select category for submission. Professional or ​Non-professional.
• Photographs should be in JPG format.
• Each JPG file should be no larger than 20MB.
• JPG file names should follow the format: LASTNAME - TITLE.jpg
• For each photograph, please complete the online form left.
• Closing dates for receipt of entries is April 5, 2019
  

 
Rules and Regulations:​

• Only submit photographs that you have taken yourself.
• Submitting photographs grants us the right to reproduce them in print and online in relation to the QUB Global Health Exhibition.
